A melamine faced chipboard (MFC) consists of wood pressed under high temperature and pressure conditions, using binding agents. The top layer is a decorative melamine coating in a wide range of colours. MFC boards are humidity-resistant and the board edge must be protected with profiles or veneer.
High-pressure compact HPL laminate (high pressure laminate) is cellulose fibres impregnated with resin and pressed under high pressure. Its surface layer is a decorative covering available in a wide range of colours. HPL boards are waterproof, and their properties are consistent throughout the thickness of the board.
Fire resistance class: Cs1d0 – 10 mm, Bs1d0 – 12 mm (option)
SANDWHICH panels are a multilayered panel consisting of the core and a HPL facing, there are manufactured inhouse at ALSANIT. There are two types of sandwich panels
Type A
36mm thick panel consisting of a 28mm polystyrene core with a 4mm HPL panel on each side giving an overall thickness of 36mm
Type B
40mm thick panel consisting of a 38mm chipboard core with a 1mm HPL board on each side giving an overall thickness of 40mm the vertical edges are finished with strips of solid beach
